Buddy Poole grew up in Salisbury and started his broadcast career on WSAT in
1964. After working for the Armed Forces Radio Network in Nurenberg,
Germany Buddy worked at WTIK, Durham North Carolina's 1st country music
station. As a young man of 22 he was the Morning Show host and
interviewed many stars from Nashville including Loretta Lynn, Faron Young,
Charlie Pride, Marty Robbins, Ernest Tubb, Little Jimmy Dickens, Dolly
Parton, Porter Waggoner, The Statler Brothers, Oak Ridge Boys and many more.
Buddy has owned stations in Thomasville and High Point and came back to
Salisbury and bought WSAT in June of 2002. Buddy has brought Salisbury
"Memories 1280" devoted to Rowan County with local information and news
about our area. |
